# Class 1 Lasers

Laser Scanners classified as **Class 1 (eye safe)**: Scout Series (VLP-16, VLP-32, HDL-32), miniRanger (miniVUX-1), Ranger (VUX-1).

Class 1 laser systems cannot emit levels of optical radiation above the exposure limits for the eye. They are safe during use, including long-term direct intrabeam viewing even when exposure occurs while using telescopic optics.

For class 1 laser products:

* Do not look unnecessarily into the transmitter aperture
* Do not point the transmitter aperture unnecessarily at people's eyes

{% hint style="warning" %}
Never open the instrument's housing: The invisible laser radiation inside the instrument may exceed acceptable emission limits of laser class 1.
{% endhint %}
