# Configure Reference Station

Under the project window on the left side, left click on the [GNSS reference station](https://docs.phoenixlidar.com/lidarmill-desktop/post-processing/workflow-kk/uploading-files/gnss-reference-station#gnss-reference-station-chc-dat-t-02) file name, and then click on the wrench icon at the bottom left

Specify GNSS reference station antenna model next to **Antenna-Type**.

![](/files/-M_7kYieZTGuV6DHOup6)

Click on **Compute position** to generate a refined reference station position using various methods:

* NOAA's NGS OPUS
* Trimble RTX
* PPP solution
* Averaged Position

{% hint style="info" %}
The refined coordinates are computed at the Antenna Phase Center, and not the ground. **Skip the "Compute Position" step if the base reference station was setup over a known point, or if you have already determined the location of your reference station.**
{% endhint %}

Select from an existing LiDARMill project, or create a new project by inputting a name and description. Click **Finish** to begin computing refined positions

The uploading and processing status is displayed next to **LiDARMIll Status**:

Once **LiDARMill Status** is **Ready**, you can select a refined position using the **Position Type** dropdown.

If the base was setup over a known point:

* Set **Position Type** to **Custom**
* Select GNSS reference station antenna model with **Antenna-Type** dropdown
* Expand the **Coordinate System** menu of the reference station coordinates by clicking **...**
* Input known XY coordinates (Latitude and Longitude, or Easting and Northing)
* Click **Set height...** to input both the antenna height and the height of the known point at ground
* Input datum **Epoch**

![Click "Set height..." to configure reference station antenna height](/files/-M_7qYF3Y1wMESqDVK1n)

![Fully configured reference station](/files/-M_7r26SAvQrJOA9qZpa)

Click **OK** to finalize Reference Station Configuration
