# POS

* The **POS** position option will identify the position of a point anywhere on the active map layer.&#x20;
* It will extract the X, Y, and Z coordinates of any point as well as the capture time in GPS week seconds.&#x20;
* The X, Y, Z coordinate system is defined in ECEF coordinates

* To identify the position of a point on the active map layer, simply activate the **POS** position tab and click anywhere on the active map layer.&#x20;
* This will create an entry in the Measurements window.&#x20;
* You can add multiple points into the Measurements window.&#x20;
* To clear the points from the Measurements window, click the "**Clear**" button located in the right bottom corner.&#x20;
* Furthermore, clicking on the **Time** entry will step to that specific instance in time within the [playback menu](https://docs.phoenixlidar.com/lidarmill-desktop/user-interface/playback-menu).
