### Classify Above Line Tool ![](/files/hwJPUPuSaElSNFAuJ6IN)

* This tool classifies points above a line drawn in either a 2D cross section (profile) view or within a 3D view
* A 2D cross section view is typically preferred for this type of classification, as the classification effects only points that are inside the display extent and depth of the profile view

To classify points above a line:

* Select the Classify Above Line tool
* With the Classify On Selection window open, Define settings (old class and new class) and ensure that "Classify on selection" is checked

![Example: Old Class = "all", New Class = Noise](/files/jVsnVYYAMQ1zq7tp1srm)

![](/files/bhL0qEsqJqrwhDQlUVoG)

* Draw a line by placing 2 data clicks (start point followed by end point) within a data view
